The Big Read is run by the National Endowment for the Arts. Its role is to encourage connections to literature in new ways.

Math math math!

After attending SMI training, I was motivated to find some Math specific resources!

iXL Math has some awesome lessons and activities for Common Core Math!  This link will take you right to the high school section!

The Math Assessment Project has ALL KINDS of information. Seriously, I could spend hours on this website! There are also a lot of formative and summative assessment ideas!

Mathbits has all kinds of resources, including lessons, activities, computer-based ideas and the like!

CollaborizeClassroom has some great ideas about how to get students collaborating in math!

Our Math department is amazing! Keep up the good work!

Info OVERLOAD

Mrs. Hanson and Mrs. Roberts attended a CTA conference today with a TON of fabulous information! See below for a million great things!

Brokers of Expertise is an amazing resource of best practices and strategies. There are videos and units, and a lot of information geared specifically to ELD students!

As teachers of English Language Learners, we should ALL be paying close attention to the ELD standards! They are not officially adopted yet, but check out this website for the draft (which is likely to be adopted this summer).

Lots of big companies are getting involved in Common Core, and creating lesson ideas and unit plans in order to include real-life content.

National Geographic is one of those companies!!

The specific link takes you to 9-12th grade science lessons, but they also have lessons for Math, Health, ELA, Social Science, even Art!

XP Math--Free Math Games!

The Wilson Math department has been absolutely AMAZING in regards to Common Core! They have already worked hard to incorporate more projects and real-life examples into their curriculum.

Today, while browsing the web, I stumbled across XP Math.

XP Math is full of MATH GAMES related to Common Core!

(However, you do need to have an updated browser/java, it seems!)

This website is kind of like Sparknotes to the 10th power. It has all kinds of resources about ALL the subjects! There are videos, lesson ideas, learning guides, and so much more!
